Tamil actor Shakti tied the knot to his girlfriend Smriti at the Ramanathan Chettiyar Hall in Chennai, India on October 31, 2011. The marriage muhurath was at 09:00 a.m.
Former Tamilnadu chief minister M Karunanidhi, his son Udhayanidhi Stalin and many top celebrities from the Tamil film industry attended the wedding.
Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan were among the celebrities whoc attended the wedding. They were received by Shakti's father P. Vasu and escorted them to the stage.
Also those who came to wish Sakthi and Smrithi included many actors and actresses, producers and directors from the South Indian film Industry.
A grand reception is organised at the same venue today evening. The couple were engaged at a star hotel in Chennai on June 5, 2011
Shakthi is the son of director P Vasu. He has acted in a number of Tamil films like Thottal Poo Malarum and Ninaithale Inikkum.
